Vancouver Art Gallery Launches Art of Wellbeing for Seniors Program

This September, the Vancouver Art Gallery will introduce a new series of art sessions designed to support the wellbeing of seniors, featuring three interactive workshops held over consecutive weeks.

The Vancouver Art Gallery is launching the Art of Wellbeing for Seniors program, with sessions scheduled for September 10, 17, and 24, 2026. Each workshop will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., offering seniors the opportunity to participate in creative activities that encourage mental and emotional wellness.

Advance registration is required for all participants. The registration fee structure is tiered: $60 for Experiences and Artist Circle members, $65 for Ideas members, and $75 for Access Pass holders and the general public. These fees grant access to all three sessions in the series.

The workshops will be held at the Vancouver Art Gallery, a prominent cultural venue known for its commitment to community engagement. This program is part of the gallery’s broader efforts to provide inclusive, art-based initiatives that benefit a wide range of audiences.

The announcement for the Art of Wellbeing for Seniors program was made on August 17, 2026, giving interested participants several weeks to register and prepare for the first session. This advance notice aims to ensure that seniors have sufficient time to plan their involvement.

By integrating art and wellbeing, the program seeks to foster social connection, creative expression, and personal growth among older adults. The structured environment is intended to support participants in exploring new forms of creativity while enhancing their overall quality of life.

The Art of Wellbeing for Seniors program stands out as a meaningful addition to Vancouver’s cultural landscape, highlighting the important role of art in promoting health and community engagement for seniors.
